After the Republican National Committee (RNC) elected a new chair on Friday, it went on to
elect a co-chair with a familiar last name: Trump. Lara Trump, the daughter-in-law of the Republican Party’s presumptive 2024 presidential nominee, Donald Trump, was elected RNC co-chair during the committee’s Spring meeting in Houston, Texas, following the election of RNC General Counsel Michael Whatley as chairman. Both votes were unanimous. Both Whatley and Trump promised to fight to ensure the integrity of the 2024 elections in November.
