Smith appears to have very thin skin. His 19-page motion aired numerous grievances about

Trump’s Truth Social posts including claims he “posted false and disparaging claims regarding the Department of Justice and prosecutors in the Special Counsel’s Office.” All of Trump’s online bleating, Smith insisted, resulted in “marshaling anger and mistrust in the justice system, the Court, and prosecutors”—as if those parties aren’t themselves solely responsible for the public’s rapidly declining trust in the legal and judicial system.
